The salisbury men’s and women’s swimming teams hosted their final home meet of the 2017-2018 season on saturday afternoon against capital athletic conference rival marymount university. Seniors Stephen Arci-dio-cono, bill james, ali johnston, conor johnston, paulina kozorosky, and matt morris were each honored prior to the start of the mEET as a part of senior day festivities. Five different swimmers earned individual first place finishes for the men. Pete Moyer earned his in the 800-meter freestyle, with a time of 9:28.97 seconds. Jake Ryan finished first in the 200-meter freestyle, with a time of 2:06.52. Bill James raced in at 4:35.21 for first in the 400-meter freestyle. Richie Baker dominated the 100-meter backstroke, with a time of 1:02.71. And Kyle Russell ENDED his afternoon finishing first in the 100-meter breaststroke, with a time of 1:10.19 seconds. Emma Tarnosky finished the 100-meter backstroke in first place for the women’s team, with a time of1:09.59 seconds. Angela Barzanti had a pair of second-place finishes: first, in the 800-meter freestyle, with a time of 10:24.33, and also in the 400-meter freestyle, with a time of 4:59.32. Jordyn Rowe also grabbed a pair of second-place finishes for the women. first, in the 200-meter freestyle, with a time of 2:23.96, and also in 100-meter freestyle, with a time of 1:06.94. THE MEN’S TEAM DEFEATED THE SAINTS, 132-69, WHILE THE WOMEN’S TEAM FELL, 133-70. BOTH TEAMS FINISH THEIR REGULAR SEASON ON SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 3RD, WHEN THEY TRAVEL TO CAC RIVAL ST. MARY’S OF MARYLAND. THE MEET IS SET TO BEGIN AT 1 P.M.
