GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Salisbury University men's soccer team tied Arcadia University 1-1 on Saturday night in non-conference action.
Salisbury (6-1-1) was unable to get a shot off until the 30th minute, when Robbie Budd took two in less than one minute of play. Budd accounted for two of the team's four shots in the half, while the defense limited Arcadia (3-4-1) to just three total shots in the first frame.
The Knights broke the scoreless tie just 2:40 into the second half as Daniel Tittelmayer scored on a feed from Harun Abdullahi.
Alton Walker tied the game at 1-1 in the 68th minute on his first career goal, enough to send the game into overtime. Both teams attempted four shots in the second half, while Arcadia took the lone corner kick.
Budd recorded his team-high third shot of the game early in the first overtime period, forcing Arcadia goalkeeper Matthew Goldberg to make his fifth save of the night. The Sea Gulls held the Knights to just one shot in the first overtime period, with the shot sailing wide.
The maroon and gold outshot Arcadia 3-1 in the second overtime period but were unable to get any on goal. Trevor Brookhart saved the only shot that came his way in either overtime period, while he made a total of three saves in the game.
Salisbury travels to take on The Catholic University of America on Wednesday, September 26 for its final non-conference match of the season. The Sea Gulls and Cardinals are scheduled to begin play at 4 p.m.
