Four Gulls awarded with NSCAA Men’s College Division Scholar All-East Region team honors

SALISBURY, Md. – Seniors Kyle Westbrook and Stephen Poorman and juniors Drew Staedeli and Taylor Groginski were selected on the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Men's College Division Scholar All-East Region team, the organization announced.

All four Sea Gulls, while playing at a high level on the field, excelled in the classroom as well, earning them all-region honors.

Westbrook was placed on the third-team for Salisbury, achieving a 3.64 grade-point average, while majoring in biology. Westbrook was an anchor on the Sea Gull defense and a team captain, earning first-team All-CAC and third-team NSCAA All-Atlantic South honors.

Staedeli, Poorman and Groginski also made the list, with each of them collecting honorable mention honors for SU.

Staedeli attained a 3.38 GPA as an accounting major at Salisbury. On the field, Staedeli was a force to be reckoned with in goal, earning second-team All-CAC honors and recording a .64 goals against average on the season.

Poorman achieved a 3.70 GPA in his major of finance, while also being a main contributor on the field, earning first-team All-CAC honors for his strong play in the midfield.

As a biology major, Groginski marked a 3.79 GPA, while also playing and starting in 18 games in the midfield for SU.
