YORK, Pa. – Junior goalkeeper Drew Staedeli of the Salisbury University men's soccer team, was named the Capital Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
The Ellicott City, Maryland native made an impressive diving save to keep Washington (Md.) College off the scoreboard Wednesday evening, which led to a 1-0 decision and Staedeli's third clean sheet of the season.
Staedeli recorded his second shutout of the week on Saturday afternoon. Against William Paterson University, he made five saves, one shy of a career high. He finished the week with seven saves.
Staedeli and the Sea Gulls prepare for their next match Wednesday, September 24, as they travel to Prince George's Community College to play Roanoke College. The game is set for 4 p.m.
