East, Becker earn CAC Player of the Week honors

YORK, Pa. -- Salisbury University junior forward Tanner East has been named the Capital Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, while junior defender Logan Becker was selected as Co-Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.

East, who leads the Sea Gulls with six goals on the season, paced the team's offense by scoring in the 57th minute during Salisbury's 2-0 victory against University of Mary Washington. He tallied another goal in the team's 3-0 win Saturday versus Southern Virginia University; both goals were game winners.

Becker played a pivotal role in helping Salisbury post two more shutouts, extending the team's streak to six straight games without surrendering a goal. The team has a total of 10 shutouts on the season.

The Sea Gulls will return to the field Wednesday, Oct. 16 as they travel to Marymount (Va.) University for a conference matchup. The game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
