YORK, Pa. – Salisbury University junior goalkeeper John Vnenchak has been named the CAC Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.
Vnenchak posted two shutouts last week to stretch the Salisbury unbeaten streak to 10 matches (8-0-2). The No. 17 Sea Gulls defeated St. Mary's (Md.) College, 3-0, Monday and Stevenson University, 1-0, Wednesday.
A Flanders, N.J., native, Vnenchak made three saves in each match to give him eight shutouts on the season, including four straight.
Top-seeded SU (7-1-0, 12-2-3 CAC) hosts fourth-seeded Frostburg State University in a CAC tournament semifinal Wednesday, Nov. 2 at 2:30 p.m., at the SU Soccer Complex.
