Salisbury lands at No. 13 in first regular season Top 25 NSCAA poll

KANSAS CITY, Kan. - The Salisbury University men's soccer team cracked the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Top 25 poll for the first time this season as the Sea Gulls are ranked No. 13. The Sea Gulls are currently 3-0-0 following two weekend victories in the Elmer Lord Memorial Classic.

Salisbury defeated Capital University, 4-0, last Saturday and then used a strong second half surge to defeat Richard Stockton College, 2-0, last Sunday. The two victories propelled the Sea Gulls to claim first-place in the tournament.

SU is the only Capital Athletic Conference team to be represented in this week's poll. The poll featured two teams that the Sea Gulls are scheduled to play in No. 18 Johns Hopkins University (Sept. 23) and No. 5 Christopher Newport University (Oct. 21). The maroon and gold are also slated to play Lynchburg College (Oct. 3), which received votes in the poll.

Salisbury will look to keep up its momentum as the Sea Gulls participate next weekend in the St. Mary's Classic. SU will begin play in the tournament against Bridgewater (Va.) College on Saturday, Sept. 12 at 6 p.m.
