Sterling tabbed as ECAC Men's Soccer South Region All-Star

CAPE COD, Mass. - The Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference released its 2009 Division III South Men's Soccer All-Stars and Salisbury University senior forward Kyle Sterling (Salisbury, Md.) was named to the first team. Sterling was one of just two forwards to be named to the first team.

Sterling led the Sea Gulls to a 15-3-2 record in 2009 including an appearance in the second round of the NCAA tournament where they fell to Johns Hopkins University in a penalty kick shootout. Sterling was the team leader in points (41), goals scored (16), assists (9) and game-winning goals (4). For his play he was named Capital Athletic Conference Player of the Year and a first-team All-CAC recipient. Sterling wrapped up his career with 129 total points on 50 goals and 29 assists.

South Region Offensive Player of the Year honors went to Carnegie Mellon University senior forward Ricky Griffin who had 49 points this season. Zach Sell of Neumann College was awarded ECAC South Region Defensive Player of the Year and Angser Otto of Stevenson University won Rookie of the Year.
