Sterling tabbed ECAC South Region Offensive Player of the Week

CENTERVILLE, Mass. - Salisbury University senior midfielder Kyle Sterling (Salisbury, Md.) added another accolade to his already impressive resume as he was named the Division III South Region Offensive Player of the Week by the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC). Sterling was also named Capital Athletic Conference Player of the Week.

Sterling had a strong week for the Sea Gulls (10-2-1, 4-0-1 CAC) as SU picked up a pair of CAC victories against Stevenson University and St. Mary's (Md.) College. In the 5-1 victory against St. Mary's, Sterling tallied his third career hat trick as he scored goals in the 19th, 53rd and 65th minutes. Sterling tallied seven points on the day, and tacked on an assist in the 49th minute to junior midfielder Dave Corrigan (Brookfield, Conn.). In the match against Stevenson, Sterling scored one goal and dished out one assist as the Sea Gulls rolled to a 4-0 victory. For the week, Sterling finished with 10 points on four goals and two assists.

The Sea Gulls will look to stay unbeaten in CAC play as they hit the road for a match against Marymount (Va.) University this Wednesday, Oct. 14, at 7:30 p.m.
