Gulls jump two spots to No. 11 in nation, No. 2 in South Atlantic region
KANSAS CITY, Kan. - The Salisbury University men's soccer team jumped two spots to No. 11 in the NSCAA (National Soccer Coaches Association of America) Top 25 poll this week. Last week, Salisbury was ranked No. 13 in the first regular season NSCAA poll. The Gulls held on to their No. 2 ranking in the South Atlantic region from last week.
Salisbury is also ranked No. 3 this week in the D3soccer.com Top 25 Poll. The Sea Gulls earned 524 points in the poll, behind No. 2 Ohio Wesleyan and No. 1 Messiah, with 568 and 625 points, respectively.
Salisbury has had a perfect season thus far, boasting a 5-0 record; the Gulls have outscored their opponents 37-1. Their most recent win came at the St. Mary's (Md.) Classic, where Salisbury defeated Randolph-Macon College, 7-1. Salisbury is the only Capital Athletic Conference team represented in this week's NSCAA Top 25 rankings.
The Sea Gulls will be on the road on Wednesday, Sept. 16, in a Capital Athletic Conference game against Gallaudet University. Salisbury's next home game will be against No. 25 ranked Johns Hopkins University on Sept. 23 at 4 p.m.
