SALISBURY, Md.- The Salisbury University men's
soccer team will get an early start to its 2007 campaign as it will
cross the Atlantic Ocean to the Netherlands and Germany for a
European Soccer Tour from August 6-14. The Sea Gulls will
participate in soccer friendly matches and take in a cultural
experience that will start in Amsterdam move to Cologne and finally
depart from their last stop Nurnberg, Germany.
SU will participate in four friendly soccer matches in nine days
along with two coaching sessions with the German and Dutch national
coaches. Salisbury will play two matches in Amsterdam, the first
against the EDO club team (August 7) followed by a game against FC
Utrecht on August 9. The Sea Gulls will then have one match in each
remaining city. On August 11, the maroon and gold will face FC
Pesch 1956 e. V in Cologne and two days later finish the trip with
a final match against TSV 1846 Nurnberg e. V in Nurnberg.
The trip will also include tours of each city along with visits to
the Amsterdam football (soccer) stadium, Ajax museum, a cruise of
the Amsterdam canal, German Sports and Olympic Museum, and a visit
to the Adidas-Sportschuh Museum in Herzogenaurach.
