LOUISVILLE – The latest Division III Coaches Poll was released on Monday morning by the United State Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association and Salisbury University entered week 11 as the third ranked team in the nation.
The Sea Gulls, who totaled 373 points, posted a 1-1 record last week falling to then No. 3 York College of Pennsylvania in a top-three match-up before downing Southern Virginia University.
The Rochester Institute of Technology entered the week as the new No. 1 team in the nation totaling 409 points and picking up 14 of the 21 first-place votes. Capital Athletic Conference rival York moved up a spot to No. 2, after the win over Salisbury, as the Spartans garnered 401 points and earned five first-place votes. Tufts University held at No. 4 as it received two first-place votes and totaled 365 points, while Wesleyan (Conn.) University rounded out the top five with 322 points.
Salisbury returns to action on Wednesday, April 24 when it closes out the regular season on the road at St. Mary's College of Maryland. Faceoff between the Sea Gulls and Seahawks is set for 4 p.m.
