Men's Lacrosse vs. Lynchburg
The top ranked Salisbury University men’s lacrosse team hosted No. 12 Lynchburg College in a top-15 clash at Sea Gull Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The Sea Gulls got goals from six different players including a career-high six from Garrett Reynolds to earn a 13-9 win. Reynolds, who finished his afternoon with six goals on 10 shots on goal, netted his marker of the day less than two minutes into the contest to break the scoreless tie. He would net four goals alone in the first half to help Salisbury take an 8-5 advantage into the locker room. Reynolds now has eight goals for the season on 27 total shots while posting a shot on goal percentage of 59.3 Griffin Moroney tallied two goals and an assist for the afternoon to finish his day with three points. Moroney capped his afternoon with nifty little under goal finishing off a pass from Zach Pompea to push the Sea Gull advantage to 11-6 midway through the fourth quarter. Anthony Stavrakis was solid in net for the maroon and gold finishing his afternoon with nine save on 33 Lynchburg shots. He also scooped up three groundballs while aiding in Salisbury’s 16-of-19 clearing effort. Salisbury returns to action on Saturday, February 17 when it hosts Widener University. Face-off between the Sea Gulls and Pride is scheduled for 1 p.m.
