Men's Lacrosse vs. Hampden-Sydney
The top ranked Salisbury university men’s lacrosse team hosted number 19 ranked Hampden-Sydney college in both team’s 2018 seaosn opener. The Sea Gulls used a 12-goal second half to claim a convincing 16-7 victory. Eight different members of the maroon and gold tallied goals in the contest led by Tyler Snyder and Corey Gwin, who each posted a hat trick. Snyder netted two first half goals and one man up goal in the second half to aid in the victory. He finished his afternoon with three goals and one assist. Meanwhile Corey Gwin tallied all three of his markers in the final 30 minutes aiding in the second half explosion. Gwin netted two goals in the fourth quarter less than 30 seconds apart to help put any chance of comeback by the Tigers out of reach. Gwin finished his afternoon with five total points netting three goals and an assist. The defensive unit was solid throughout the game as Anthony Stravakis notched four saves on the day to earn the win. Kyle Tucker recorded three caused turnovers and scooped up a team-high seven groundballs. Salisbury returns to action on Saturday, February 10 when it hosts No. 12 Lynchburg College.
