Men's lacrosse to begin NCAA tournament play on Wednesday, will host first round game Tuesday

INDIANAPOLIS – The National Collegiate Athletic Association released the field for the 2018 Division III Men's Lacrosse Tournament on Sunday evening and No. 7 Salisbury University was given a first-round bye and the right to host an opening-round game. The Sea Gulls will begin play on Wednesday, May 9 in a second-round contest.

The Sea Gulls earned the first-round bye after defeating No. 2 York College of Pennsylvania, 11-8, in the Capital Athletic Conference championship match on Saturday evening.

Salisbury will host a first-round game on Tuesday, May 8 between Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom winner Eastern University and North Eastern Athletic Conference Morrisville State College.

Eastern advanced to the NCAA tournament after defeating Misericordia University 17-14 on Saturday night while the Mustangs of Morrisville defeated Bryn Athyn College 11-10 on Saturday, as well. This will be the second straight season the Sea Gulls have hosted the MAC Freedom winner having hosted Misericordia last season.

Game times for the first and second-round games have yet to be determined.
