PERRY, N.Y. – The Salisbury University men's lacrosse team continued to climb in the national ranking on Monday with the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association releasing its last Division III Coaches' Poll, and the Sea Gulls moved up two spots to No. 7.
Salisbury garnered 253 points to take the No. 7 spot following a 20-10 win at the University of Mary Washington in the team's only game this past week. The Sea Gulls sit just 27 points behind No. 6 Tufts University, which dropped three spots in this week's poll.
Rochester Institute of Technology, with 380 points and all 20 first-place votes, remains at No. 1, while York College of Pennsylvania (356 points) held at No. 2. Gettysburg College climbed one spot to No. 3, with 336 points, while Amherst College (308 points) jumped up three places to No. 4, and Wesleyan (Conn.) University (286 points) held at No. 5.
The Sea Gulls and York are joined in the top 20 from the Capital Athletic Conference by Christopher Newport University, which climbed a spot to No. 16.
Salisbury is in action at Marymount (Va.) University on Wednesday, April 18 beginning at 4 p.m.
