PERRY, N.Y. – The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association released its latest Division III coaches poll on Monday and Salisbury University has held at No. 8 in the nation following two wins last week.
The Sea Gulls topped Kenyon College, 20-2, last Wednesday, and earned a 9-7 win against then-No. 15 Stevenson University this past Saturday to improve Salisbury's record to 5-2 on the 2018 season.
Salisbury collected 264 points in this week's poll to hold down the No. 8 spot, just 17 points behind No. 7 Tufts University.
Rochester Institute of Technology remained at No. 1 with 418 points and 21 first-place votes while Denison University climbed a spot to No. 2 with 390 points. Gettysburg College picked up the final first-place vote and 379 points to stand in third followed by York College of Pennsylvania (321 points) and Cabrini University (311) to round out the top five.
Salisbury and York are joined in the current poll by fellow Capital Athletic Conference member Christopher Newport University, which sits at No. 18 with 77 points.
