PERRY, N.Y. - The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association released its latest Division III coaches poll on Tuesday morning, and the Salisbury University men's lacrosse team came in ranked No. 8 in the nation.
The Sea Gulls suffered their second-straight loss dropping a tough 12-11 overtime decision at now No. 18 Ohio Wesleyan University on Sunday, March 4. It is the first time since 2015 that Salisbury has suffered two consecutive defeats, which were also against Gettysburg College and Ohio Wesleyan.
Rochester Institute of Technology remained atop the Division III Men's Lacrosse world while Wesleyan (Conn.) University stayed at No. 2. Denison College maintained its hold on the No. 3spot while Capital Athletic Conference rival York College of Pennsylvania came in at No. 4. The Bullets of Gettysburg College fresh off another overtime win this time against No. 15 Stevenson University rounded out the top five.
The Sea Gulls and Spartans are joined in the top 20 by fellow CAC team Christopher Newport University, which held its spot at No. 20.
Salisbury returns to action on Wednesday, March 7 when it hosts Kenyon College. Face-off is scheduled for 4 p.m.
