Men's lacrosse to face winner of Misericordia, Lasell in NCAA second round

INDIANAPOLIS - The second-ranked Salisbury University men's lacrosse team will begin play in the NCAA tournament on Wednesday, May 10, taking on the winner of a first-round game between Misericordia University and Lasell College as the bracket for the Division III men's lacrosse tournament was released on Sunday night.

Sea Gull Stadium will be the host site for the first-round game between Misericordia and Lasell on Tuesday, May 9, as well as the second-round game on Wednesday.

Salisbury last played on April 29 in the Capital Athletic Conference championship game and took down No. 5 York College of Pennsylvania, 15-5 to win the program's 20th CAC title. The Salisbury defense held York (Pa.) to just one goal by halftime, while the offense worked up an 11-0 lead before the visitors scored.

Misericordia makes the tournament as the MAC Freedom champions and earned the conference's automatic qualifier after beating Eastern University, 6-1, for the program's first ever conference title.

Lasell comes in as the 2017 Great Northeast Athletic Conference champions following a 13-12 win over Mount Ida College to send the Lasers to the tournament.

Salisbury has never faced either the Cougars or the Lasers.
