Men's lacrosse named unanimous No. 1 according to national polls

SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University men's lacrosse team can now attach the word "unanimous" to their top national ranking as the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association poll and rankings released on Monday had the Gulls as the top team in the country.

The Sea Gulls (7-0) stayed perfect following a 17-5 win over the University of Mary Washington. Nathan Blondino had one goal and six assists while Nick Garbarino and Carson Kalama both added five goals in the win.

In the USILA poll, the Gulls earned the top spot with 440 points and all 22 first-place votes. To finish off the top five in the poll is Tufts University with 409 points, Ithaca College with 396 points, St. Lawrence University with 355 points, and Rochester Institute of Technology with 345 points. Tufts and RIT both received first-place votes last week to keep the Gulls from being the unanimous top team.

In the ranking, Salisbury is followed by Ithaca, Tufts, St. Lawrence, and York College of Pennsylvania.

Salisbury's next game will be played on Wednesday, March 22 at Sea Gull Stadium with a 7 p.m., faceoff against Marymount (Va.) University.
