YORK, Pa. – Salisbury University men's lacrosse junior Kyle Tucker has been named the Capital Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week, the CAC announced Monday.
Tucker and the Salisbury defense had a lock down performance against Washington (Md.) College as the Shoremen only mustered three shots on cage all game. The first goal for the Shoremen came in the final minutes of the dominant defensive performance. Washington College came into the game averaging 11.80 goals per contest before putting up the lone tally against Salisbury. Also, in the 51 all-time meetings between Salisbury and Washington College, the one goal is the lowest total either side has scored in a game.
In the win, Tucker had a game-high seven groundballs and four caused turnovers. Going into the game, Tucker had accumulated seven groundballs and four caused turnovers all season.
Tucker and the Gulls now return to play on Saturday, March 18 at Sea Gull Stadium against the University of Mary Washington at 1 p.m.
