Men's lacrosse holds on to top spot in the nation

SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University men's lacrosse team remains as the top team in the nation according to the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association and rankings released on Monday.

The Sea Gulls (5-0) are still unblemished following a 10-6 home win over No. 20 Ohio Wesleyan University. Nathan Blondino (two goals and three assists) and Nick Garbarino (four goals) led Salisbury's offense while Colin Reymann had a nine-save outing in net.

In the USILA poll, the Gulls earned the top spot with 458 points and 21-of-23 first-place votes. To finish off the top five in the poll is Rochester Institute of Technology with 426 points and a first-place vote, Tufts University with 420 points and the remaining first-place vote, Ithaca College with 393 points, and Amherst College with 325 points.

In the ranking, Salisbury is followed by Ithaca, Tufts, RIT, and St. Lawrence University.

Salisbury's next game will be played on Saturday, March 11 at Washington (Md.) College, which is receiving votes in the USILA poll, for the annual Charles B. Clark Cup matchup. That game is set to start at 1 p.m.
