Men's lacrosse picked as preseason No. 1; seven Gulls named preseason All-Americans

BALTIMORE – Following winning its 11th national championship in program history, the Salisbury University men's lacrosse team has been selected as the preseason top-ranked team in the nation by insidelacrosse.com. In addition, the publication selected seven Gulls to its preseason All-American squad.

Salisbury is in the top spot followed in order by Ithaca College, Rochester Institute of Technology, York College of Pennsylvania, and Tufts University to finish out the top five. On the Sea Gulls' 2017 schedule, six teams from the top 20 are featured.

Making the preseason first team are senior Nathan Blondino and juniors Kyle Tucker and Will Nowesnick. The trio was named United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association second team All-Americans a season ago.

On the second team, Andrew Ternahan collected the nod after leading the team in groundballs last season with 104 and being a USILA third team All-American.

To round off the preseason All-Americans, Carson Kalama and Colin Reymann were named to the third team, while Brendan Bromwell was on the honorable mention list.

The Sea Gulls start their season on Saturday, February 4 with a 1 p.m., showdown against Methodist University at Sea Gull Stadium.
