Men's lacrosse heads into NCAA's as No. 3 team in nation

SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University men's lacrosse team has been ranked No. 3 in the nation by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association coaches' poll and the rankings, as announced by the organizations.

Last week the Sea Gulls (18-1) did not play a game as they awaited the good news that they will host an NCAA tournament first round game.

In the USILA poll, Salisbury is at No. 3 with 265 points and one first-place vote. Ithaca College tops the poll with 295 points and 11 first-place votes. Ithaca is followed by Rochester Institute of Technology with 280 points and two first-place votes. After Salisbury, Tufts University (258 points and one first-place vote) and Gettysburg College (226 points) round out the top five.

In the rankings, the top three from the USILA poll are mirrored in Ithaca, RIT, and Salisbury. However, Denison University sits in fourth and Gettysburg in fifth to finish out the top-five rankings.

Salisbury received an at-large bid into the NCAA tournament and will host Catholic University of America on Wednesday, May 11. Faceoff is set for 4 p.m.
