Men's lacrosse remains No. 1 in the country

SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University men's lacrosse team has been ranked No. 1 in the nation by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association coaches' poll and the rankings, as announced by the organizations on Monday.

Last week the Sea Gulls (13-0) picked up two wins, outscoring their opponents 56-9. In its first game last week, Salisbury took down Wesley College, 28-4. The Gulls followed with another 28-goal outing, beating Marymount (Va.) University, 28-5.

In the USILA poll, Salisbury is at No. 1 with 299 points and 14 of the 15 first-place votes. Rochester Institute of Technology stays at No. 2 with 286 points and the other first-place vote. RIT is followed by Tufts University (266 points), York College of Pennsylvania (244points), and Denison University (230 points), to round out the top five.

In the rankings, Salisbury stays at No. 1 following its 2-0 week. Following Salisbury is RIT, Tufts, Denison, and St. Lawrence University.

Salisbury returns to action on Wednesday, April 6 when it travels to No. 20 Christopher Newport University for a 5 p.m., matchup.
