Men's lacrosse ranked No. 2 in the nation

SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University men's lacrosse team is ranked No. 2 by both the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association coaches' poll and the rankings, announced by the organizations on Monday.

Last week the Sea Gulls (9-0) picked up two wins. Their first win came over in-state rival, Washington (Md.) College, taking down the Shoremen, 14-2. Next the Gulls played the University of Mary Washington in Capital Athletic Conference play and won, 9-4.

In the USILA poll, Salisbury is at No. 2 with 359 points and one of the 19 first-place votes. Remaining in the top spot is Tufts University with 379 points and picking up the other 18 first-place votes. The other teams in the top five are Rochester Institute of Technology, with 345 points, and York College of Pennsylvania with 292 points, while Amherst College rounds out the top five with 272 points.

In the rankings, Salisbury stays put at No. 2 following its 2-0 week. Atop the poll is Tufts; following Salisbury at No. 2 to round out the top five is RIT, St. Lawrence University, and Denision University.

Salisbury returns to action on Friday, March 25, when it hosts No. 17 Roanoke College at 5 p.m.
