Face-off Yearbook ranks Salisbury No. 5 in preseason rankings

BALTIMORE – The Salisbury University men's lacrosse team was picked to finish fifth in the nation for the 2016 season as announced by the Inside Lacrosse Face-off Yearbook's Division III top-25 rankings.

The Sea Gulls enter the 2016 season following a 2015 campaign that saw them go 17-5 and make their 27th-straight NCAA tournament appearance. In Capital Athletic Conference play during the 2015 season, the Sea Gulls went a perfect 8-0 en route to their 19th CAC title.

Two-time defending national champions Tufts University topped the poll, while No. 2 Lynchburg College, No. 3 Amherst College, and No. 4 Rochester Institute of Technology joined Salisbury in the top five.

Salisbury was the only CAC team to be named in the top 25 but its scheduled features eight matchups against teams featured in the preseason rankings, including a stretch of five games in a row starting on February 13, against No. 2 Lynchburg, where the Gulls will face off against preseason top-25 squads.

Salisbury opens up its season on February 6 when it travels to the St. Christopher's School in Richmond, Va., to take on Hamden-Sydney College. Face off is set for 2 p.m.
