BALTIMORE – The Salisbury University men's lacrosse team will enter the 2015 NCAA Division III tournament as the No. 8 team in the country, the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association announced on Monday.
The Sea Gulls hold the eighth spot for the third-straight week, earning 143 points. Salisbury is coming off of its 19th Capital Athletic Conference title on Saturday with a 14-5 victory over No. 20 Frostburg State University at Sea Gull Stadium.
The top five saw one change, as Tufts University moved back into the top-five teams at No. 5, up one spot from last week, with 181 points. The rest remained unchanged as No. 1 Rochester Institute of Technology (220 points), No. 2 Gettysburg College (207 points), No. 3 Ohio Wesleyan University (195 points), and No. 4 Lynchburg College (185 points) kept their spots from last week.
Salisbury will begin the national tournament on Wednesday, May 6 with a first-round game against Roanoke College; the Gulls will host the Maroons at Sea Gull Stadium, with the opening faceoff set for 7 p.m.
