YORK, Pa. - The Capital Athletic Conference announced its weekly honors for men's lacrosse on Monday and Salisbury University sophomore Carson Kalama picked up Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season.
Kalama helped lead the Sea Gulls to a 2-0 week, downing York College of Pennsylvania, 19-6, on April 15, followed by a 23-5 victory over Washington (Md.) College on Saturday in the annual War on the Shore matchup.
Kalama came out strong in the game against York, scoring three goals in the first five minutes. He had a game-high six goals and four ground balls. The victory sealed up the No. 1 seed for the Sea Gulls in the CAC tournament. On Saturday, the sophomore followed up with a four-goal, one-assist effort during the rivalry game against the Shoremen.
The Sea Gulls take the field once again on Saturday, April 25 to host a semifinal game of the CAC tournament after earning a bye in the first round. They will take on the winner of Wednesday's first-round matchup between fourth-seeded York and fifth-seeded St. Mary's College of Maryland.
