Men's lacrosse moves up in both polls after two-win week

SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University men's lacrosse team moved up in the latest rankings after a 2-0 week, landing at No. 12 in the Lacrosse Magazine rankings and at No. 10 in the United Sates Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association poll, the organizations announced Monday.

The Sea Gulls (11-4, 7-0 CAC) defeated Christopher Newport University, 16-3, on Wednesday and grabbed the win in overtime against Frostburg State University, 8-7, on Saturday. Sophomore Carson Kalama had a game-high four goals against CNU while senior Sean Fitzgerald had a game-high six assists to help solidify the win. While in the close match-up on Saturday, sophomore Nathan Blondino scored the winning goal in overtime, keeping the Sea Gulls perfect in the CAC, with a record of 7-0.

Coming in at No. 14 last week, the Gulls' jumped two spots to No. 12 in the Lacrosse Magazine ranking and moved up one spot in the USILA poll to No. 10.

Joining Salisbury University from the CAC this week is Frostburg State that went from No. 16 last week to No. 20 in the Lacrosse Magazine poll and No. 18 this week in the USILA poll.  

Salisbury returns to Sea Gull Stadium for its final regular-season home game on Wednesday, April 15 for a Capital Athletic Conference showdown with York College of Pennsylvania; the opening faceoff is set for 7 p.m.
