SALISBURY, Md. - After taking down two more teams this week, the Salisbury University men's lacrosse team moved up in the latest rankings, Lacrosse Magazine and the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association announced Monday.
The Sea Gulls (6-3, 2-0 CAC) took out No. 10 Cabrini College, 13-7, on March 18, as sophomore Carson Kalama paced the offense with four goals and two assists. On Saturday, Salisbury added another win to the record with an 11-4 victory over Capital Athletic Conference opponent University of Mary Washington. Kalama scored twice in the first quarter for the Sea Gulls giving them the advantage, as he finished the game tied with a team-high two goals. Freshman Dash Ferguson and sophomores Cameron Maples and Brendan Walker each scored two goals, as well, to lead the Sea Gulls to victory.
At No. 14 last week in the Lacrosse Magazine ranking, the Sea Gulls moved up one spot to No. 13 this week and jumped three spots in the USILA poll, now coming in at No. 12.
Joining Salisbury from the CAC in the USILA poll is Frostburg State University which is currently receiving votes.
Salisbury will take on No. 7 Stevenson University, Wednesday, March 25 at Sea Gull Stadium. Start time is set for 7 p.m.
