Salisbury ranked No. 12 in country

BALTIMORE – The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Division III men's lacrosse coaches' poll and rankings released their weekly top-20 polls, and the Salisbury University men's lacrosse team came in at No. 12 in both polls, the organizations announced on Monday.

The Sea Gulls garnered 155 points in the USILA poll, after going 1-1 over the past week. They began the week with a 12-2 victory over Widener University, before falling to Gettysburg College on Saturday 12-6.

Both the coaches' poll and the rankings saw movement in the top five, ultimately coming out with the same top-five teams.

In the USILA poll, No. 1 Tufts University (392 points, 12 first-place votes) and No. 2 Rochester Institute of Technology (388 points, eight first-place votes) flipped places for the second-straight week, while No. 3 Lynchburg College (352 points) moved up three spots and Union College (313 points) moved up from ninth to No. 4. No. 5 Stevenson University dropped from No. 3 with 289 points.

In the rankings, the top three teams stayed the same with No. 1 Tufts, No. 2 RIT, and No. 3 Lynchburg. No. 4 Union moved up from No. 8, and Stevenson stayed at No. 5.

The Sea Gulls return to action on Sunday, March 8, hosting No. 15 Ohio Wesleyan University at Sea Gull Stadium; the opening faceoff is set for 1 p.m.
