CAC coaches rank SU top team to start season

YORK, Pa. – The Salisbury University men's lacrosse team's first game is only three days away, and the Sea Gulls will enter the 2015 season as the favorite to win the Capital Athletic Conference, the league announced in its 2015 preseason men's lacrosse coaches' poll on Wednesday.

The Sea Gulls are coming into this season after their fourth national championship appearance in five seasons and their 18th conference title, and SU tops the CAC rankings with 63 points and seven-first place votes, giving the Gulls a five-point lead on second-ranked York College of Pennsylvania (58 points and two first-place votes).

No. 3 Frostburg State University (48 points), No. 4 Christopher Newport University (39 points) and No. 5 St. Mary's College of Maryland (37 points) rounded out the top five for the CAC.

The Sea Gulls kick off their season on Saturday, February 7 against Greensboro College at Sea Gull Stadium; the opening faceoff is set for 1 p.m.
