BALTIMORE – The Salisbury University men's lacrosse team held on to its No. 2 spot in the Lacrosse Magazine rankings, after defeating York College of Pennsylvania on Saturday in the Capital Athletic Conference championship game, 12-4, the organization announced Tuesday.
The win earned the Sea Gulls their 18th CAC title, while also earning the team an automatic bid and first-round bye in the NCAA Division III tournament.
There was no movement in the top five this week, as No. 1 Rochester Institute of Technology, No. 3 Denison University, No. 4 Washington (Md.) College, and No. 5 Stevenson all remain with Salisbury as the top teams.
With the first-round bye, Salisbury will host a second-round contest against the winner of Wednesday's first-round game between York and Susquehanna University; the second-round game will take place on Saturday at 12 p.m.
