YORK, Pa. - Salisbury University men's lacrosse senior attackman Luke Phipps picked up Capital Athletic Conference honors for the second-straight week, being named the conference Co-Offensive Player of the Week, along with Frostburg State University's Billy Lark, the league announced on Monday.
Phipps finished the week with 11 points, on five goals and six assists; he gave two strong performances in Salisbury's wins over Marymount (Va.) University and Stevenson University, this week.
Against the Saints, Phipps tallied five points on three goals and two assists, finishing second on the team in all of the categories.
He followed with a six-point outing to lead Salisbury past the Mustangs. Phipps talled two goals and a team-high four assists in the contest, with both goals and one assist coming in the Gulls' three-goal fourth quarter that decided the game. He only needed three shots to find the net twice.
Phipps and the Sea Gulls will be in action on Saturday for a CAC semifinal game at Sea Gull Stadium, after earning a first-round bye; SU will host either Frostburg State University or St. Mary's College of Maryland after the first-round games are played. The start time is to be determined.
