BALTIMORE - The Salisbury University men's lacrosse team moved to No. 5 in the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Division III coaches' poll and No. 7 in the Lacrosse Magazine rankings, the organizations announced on Monday.
The Sea Gulls (11-1) fell three spots in the Lacrosse Magazine rankings and the USILA poll after falling, 8-7, to Christopher Newport University in overtime on Wednesday, before defeating St. Mary's College of Maryland, 11-6, on Saturday during Lax for Leukemia Youth Day.
The top three teams, No. 1 Rochester Institute of Technology, No. 2 Stevenson University and No. 3 Cabrini College, remain the same in the Lacrosse Magazine rankings; No. 4 Denison University and No. 5 Washington College both moved up one spot into the top five.
RIT remains at the top of the coaches' poll with 440 points and all 22 first-place votes, followed by No. 2 Cabrini (414 points), No. 3 Stevenson (396 points), and No. 4 Denison (354 points), joining the Sea Gulls (334 points) in the top five; Cabrini, Stevenson and Denison moved up one spot from last week.
The Sea Gulls' will host Wesley College Tuesday, April 8 at Sea Gull Stadium; faceoff is set for 7 p.m.
