YORK, Pa. - Salisbury University men's lacrosse senior goalkeeper Alex Taylor was awarded the Capital Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
Taylor picked up two more victories this week, running his season record to 9-0, as Salisbury defeated No. 7 Washington College, 12-7, and No. 12 York College of Pennsylvania, 11-8.
On Wednesday, the Woodbine, Md., native stopped 15 shots against the Shoremen, leading the SU defense and helping to bring the Charles B. Clark Cup back to Salisbury. He then added nine more saves in the win over the Spartans, giving the team its second CAC victory and fifth win over a ranked opponent.
For the week, Taylor saved 61.5 percent of the shots he faced and picked up eight ground balls.
Salisbury will be back in action on Saturday, as the Sea Gulls travel to No. 15 University of Mary Washington; the game is set for 3 p.m.
