Salisbury keeps hold on No. 2 and No. 4 spots in USILA and Lacrosse Magazine rankings

BALTIMORE - The Salisbury University men's lacrosse team kept a hold on its United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Division III coaches' poll and Lacrosse Magazine rankings at No. 2 and No. 4, respectively, the organizations announced on Monday.

The Sea Gulls earned 366 points and one first-place vote in the coaches' poll after defeating No. 7 Washington College and No. 12 York College of Pennsylvania this week; SU came up just 33 points behind No. 1 Rochester Institute of Technology in the voting.

RIT leads with 399 points and the other 19 first-place votes, while No. 3 Cabrini College (360 points), No. 4 Stevenson University (348 points) and No. 5 Denison University (291 points) round out the top five; the Mustangs moved up one spot from last week, while Denison jumped from No. 8 into the top five.

In the Lacrosse Magazine rankings, RIT, Stevenson and Cabrini also stayed put in the top-three spots ahead of SU, while Denison moved from No. 8 to No. 5 to finish out the top five.

The Sea Gulls now look forward to a Capital Athletic Conference matchup with No. 15 University of Mary Washington on Saturday, with the game set to start at 3 p.m.
