Salisbury climbs one spot in USILA and Lacrosse Magazine rankings

BALTIMORE - The Salisbury University men's lacrosse team moved up one spot in the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Division III poll and the Lacrosse Magazine Division III rankings, the organizations announced on Monday.

After a 10-5 victory over Frostburg State University on Saturday, the Sea Gulls are now ranked No. 2 in the USILA poll with 316 points and No. 4 by Lacrosse Magazine.

With 359 points and all 17 first-place votes, Rochester Institute of Technology stays atop the USILA poll, while No. 3 Tufts University (311 points), No. 4 Cabrini College (309 points) and No. 5 Stevenson University (304 points) round out the top five.

RIT remains in the top spot of the Lacrosse Magazine rankings, as well, with No. 2 Stevenson, No. 3 Cabrini and No. 5 Washington College joining SU in the top five.

The Shoremen come in at No. 7 in the USILA rankings, setting up a top-10 matchup for the Sea Gulls on Wednesday; the two teams will battle for the Charles B. Clark cup at Sea Gull Stadium, with the opening faceoff set for 4 p.m.
