BALTIMORE - The Salisbury University men's lacrosse team remains in the top five of the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Associations Division III poll and the Lacrosse Magazine rankings, the organizations announced on Monday.
The Sea Gulls moved up to No. 3 in the USILA poll, while keeping hold on the No. 5 spot in Lacrosse Magazine, after defeating Ohio Wesleyan University, 13-7, on Sunday afternoon.
In the USILA poll, Salisbury (6-0) garnered 350 points to jump up from No. 5, last week, and finish four points ahead of No. 4 Tufts University.
Rochester Institute of Technology (420 points and all 21 first-place votes) and State University of New York at Cortland (388 points) remained in the No. 1 and No. 2 spots, respectively, and Stevenson University dropped to No. 5 with 342 points to round out the top five.
There were no changes in the top five of the Lacrosse Magazine rankings, with No. 1 RIT, No. 2 Stevenson, No. 3 Cabrini College and No. 4 Cortland St., filling out the top spots with the Sea Gulls.
SU will begin its Capital Athletic Conference play on Saturday in its next game, against Frostburg State University at Sea Gull Stadium. The game is set to start at 1 p.m.
