BALTIMORE - The Salisbury University men's lacrosse team ranks No. 5 in the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association poll and the Lacrosse Magazine rankings, announced on Monday.
The Sea Gulls picked up two more wins this week to move their record to 5-0, defeating McDaniel College on Wednesday, 20-5, and No. 19 Gettysburg College, 11-9; the Bullets moved up to No. 16 in the USILA poll.
Salisbury earned 300 points in the USILA rankings, finishing just one point ahead of No. 6 Cabrini College. Rochester Institute of Technology took the top spot with 380 points and all 19 first-place votes, while No. 2 State University of New York at Cortland (347 points), No. 3 Stevenson University (335 points) and No. 4 Tufts University (316 points) round out the top five.
Lacrosse Magazine lists RIT at No. 1, as well, but the spots between the Tigers and the Sea Gulls are different. Stevenson comes in at No. 2, Cabrini jumped to No. 3 from No. 7, last week, and Cortland St. falls to No. 4 to fill out the top five.
The Gulls will be back in action on Sunday, traveling to Bethesda, Md., for a neutral-site game with annual-foe Ohio Wesleyan University; the opening faceoff is set for 1 p.m.
