USILA poll drops Sea Gulls four spots to No. 12

BALTIMORE – The Salisbury University men's lacrosse team dropped out of the top 10 from No. 8 to No. 12 in the latest United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Division III coaches' poll, the organization announced on Monday.

The Sea Gulls fell four spots after losing in the Capital Athletic Conference championship game, 13-11, to St. Mary's College of Maryland on Sunday; the Seahawks entered the top 20 at No. 19 after winning the CAC title and earning an automatic bid into the NCAA tournament.

Washington and Lee University and Nazareth College both tied to replace the Gulls at No. 8.

The top-five teams remained unchanged with undefeated State University of New York at Cortland and Dickinson College holding No. 1 and No. 2, respectively. They were followed by No. 3 Rochester Institute of Technology, No. 4 Stevenson University and No. 5 Cabrini College.

The Sea Gulls' season will continue on Wednesday as they earned an at-large bid to the national tournament and will host Susquehanna University at Sea Gull Stadium in a first-round game; the opening face off is set for 3 p.m.
