BALTIMORE - The Salisbury University men's lacrosse team dropped into a tie for the No. 8 spot in the latest United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Division III coaches' poll, the organization announced on Monday.
The Sea Gulls (14-4) and Tufts University (12-4) both earned 233 points to share the No. 8 ranking. Salisbury is coming off of a win in a Capital Athletic Conference semifinal game over the University of Mary Washington, 20-8, to advance to the conference's championship game.
The top five remained unchanged this week as State University of New York at Cortland kept a hold of the top spot with 17-of-18 first-place votes and 359 points. Dickinson College earned the final first-place vote and 342 points at No. 2 and was followed by No. 3 Rochester Institute of Technology (321 points), No. 4 Stevenson University (306 points) and No. 5 Cabrini College (265 points).
Salisbury will host St. Mary's College of Maryland this Sunday at 1 p.m., at Sea Gull Stadium in the CAC championship game as it plays for its 18th conference championship.
