Von Kamecke named CAC Men's Lacrosse Co-Athlete of the Week

NORTH HUNTINGDON, Pa. - The Capital Athletic Conference announced its weekly conference athlete of the week awards and Salisbury University midfielder Mike Von Kamecke (Winter Park, Fla.) was named the men's lacrosse co-recipient for the week of March 31.

Von Kamecke sparked the comeback for top-ranked Salisbury as the Sea Gulls trailed No. 2 Gettysburg 7-2 at the half. The sophomore scored three of his game-high four goals in the second half as the Gulls rallied to win 11-8 before 3,550 at Musselman Stadium. He added a goal and assist in the 25-4 rout of York (Pa.) College earlier this week in the first-ever night game for SU men's lacrosse at Sea Gull Stadium.

He shares the award with St. Mary's (Md.) College sophomore midfielder Ryan Alexander, who had two four-point games last week against CAC competition.

Von Kamecke is the second Sea Gull to earn a CAC Men's Lacrosse Athlete of the Week award this spring season. Junior goalie Riley Clark earned the honor for the week of March 17.

Salisbury will next face University of Mary Washington on Wednesday, April 2, for a 4 p.m. CAC game.
