Heier named USILA Scholar All-American

BALTIMORE - The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association announced its 2007 Scholar All-Americans and senior defenseman Chris Heier was one 40 student-athletes honored.

Heier is the fifth Sea Gull in the past three seasons to be honored as Jimmy Creighton and Mike Hurley garnered the award in 2006 and Jeff Bigas and Bryan Bradford did so as well in 2005.

The Fallston, Md. native is a three-time All-American and finished the '07 season with 46 ground balls and 34 caused turnovers for the national champion Sea Gulls.

The Scholar All-Americans are awarded to student-athletes who hold a 3.0 grade point average of higher and were named to an All-American team or have been chosen to participate in the North-South game.
