Sea Gulls defeat Penn State-Harrisburg, 83-67
The Salisbury University men’s basketball team picked up a 83-67 Capital Athletic Conference win on Wednesday night, topping visiting Penn State University-Harrisburg. Freshman Al Leder led the way for the Gulls, hitting a pair of early three-pointers and scoring 16 points, just shy of a career high. The game remained close through the early minutes, but it was a 6-0 run that put Salisbury up 24-17 just past the midway point on this Wyatt Smith bucket that marked the largest lead of the game at that point. Smith scored a game-high 19 points in the game to go with 11 rebounds and three blocks. Salisbury built the lead to double digits with threes from Chad Barcikowski and Leder. Barcikowski scored 11 in the contest. The Sea Gulls held the lead throughout the second half, with Terray Quickley scoring nine of his 18 points after halftime. Nick Gittings had a strong game off the bench, scoring nine points while pulling in five rebounds, playing just 18 minutes.
