Teddy Bear Toss to benefit Toys for Tots scheduled for December 9; one fan could win flat-screen TV

SALISBURY, Md. – As the holidays approach, Salisbury University basketball fans can help brighten the day of a less-fortunate child, as the Sea Gulls will be hosting a Teddy Bear Toss at halftime of the men's basketball game on Wednesday, December 9.

While fans will be able to make someone else's day a little brighter, as all donations will go to Toys for Tots, one lucky fan could walk away from the game with a new flat-screen television.

Fans who would like to participate are asked to bring a new stuffed animal to the game for donation; bringing a toy for donation will result in free admission.

At halftime, three bins will be set up on the court and fans will have the opportunity to attempt to throw their contribution into one of the three bins from the stands. If a fan makes it into one of the bins, they will win a flat-screen television. If two or more fans make the shot, there will be a throw-off to determine the winner.

Wednesday's game will be the final home event for a Salisbury team during the 2015 calendar year, as part of a doubleheader with the women's basketball team. Both teams will be taking on Penn State University-Harrisburg, with the women's game tipping off at 5:30 p.m., and the men's game starting at 7:30.
