Finding a way to win

The Salisbury University men (10-10, 5-6 CAC) have won six of their last seven games after starting the season 4-9.

"We are starting to win and learning to find ways to win," freshman point guard Charles Porter said. "And, as we are going along through the season, we are going to start winning more games."

Youth is served

The Sea Gull men's squad began the season as a young team that lost a lot of leadership and offensive firepower in departed senior Travon Vann and others.

But a solid four-man freshman class has been just what third-year Sea Gulls coach Josh Merkel was looking for.

"We are proud of all of our freshman," Merkel said. "I think Diara Woodward and Justin Witmer are two young guys who are going to be very very good. Although it hasn't shown up yet because they are playing behind certain guys like (leading scorer) Tim Harwood and other guys that have been in the program."...
