YORK, Pa. – The Capital Athletic Conference announced its weekly award winners on Monday and senior Devin Posey was named the league's men's basketball Player of the Week.
Posey led the Sea Gulls to three wins during the first week of the season, which gave Salisbury its first Pride of Maryland Tournament championship; the Indian Head, Md., native was named the tournament's most valuable player.
During the three games, two of which were against CAC opponents in non-conference contests, Posey averaged just 3.7 points, but did his damage in other ways as the 6-foot guard grabbed 7.3 rebounds per game and dished out nearly five assists per game. In the championship game, against Johns Hopkins University, Posey pulled down 10 rebounds and scored six points.
Posey and the Sea Gulls will be back in action on Tuesday, Nov. 22, when they host No. 1 Virginia Wesleyan College at Maggs Physical Activities Center beginning at 8 p.m.
