CAC opponent set for men's basketball; Sea Gulls travel to Wesley on Tuesday
SALISBURY, Md. - The Salisbury University men's basketball team had to wait a day to find out who they would battle in the Capital Athletic Conference tournament's opening round. The Sea Gulls, who are the No. 6 seed in the event, will travel to No. 3 Wesley College on Tuesday night at 8 p.m.
Wesley (17-7, 11-5 CAC) became the No. 3 seed by virtue of York (Pa.) College's win at Gallaudet University on Sunday. York and Wesley tied for the second seed and the Spartans held the tie breaker.
Salisbury (13-11, 9-7 CAC) was swept this season by the Wolverines, falling 68-63 in Dover on Jan. 16 and then again, 75-72, on Feb. 17 at Maggs Physical Activities Center.
The Sea Gulls have not beaten Wesley since Jan. 6, 2005, but do hold a 16-7 edge in the series since 1989-90 season.
The winner of Tuesday's game will advance to the CAC semifinal round, and travel to York on Thursday night for a game beginning at 7 p.m.
